“Deputy head of Hamas Political Bureau, Saleh Al-Arouri, told Al Jazeera:

▪️The Al-Qassam Brigades operation was well planned and controlled. The instructions were to target the Gaza Division of the Israeli occupation forces.

▪️We were aware that the Israeli occupation was planning to launch an attack on us after the Jewish holidays.

▪️ We launched a preemptive operation against the Israeli occupation army’s Southern Command, which collapsed very quickly.

▪️Through its violent aggression, the Israeli occupation wants to cover up its army’s failure to defend its military posts.

▪️When the Israeli occupation army’s Gaza Division collapsed, civilians from Gaza crossed the separation fence and clashed with Isreali colonial settlers. Some civilians were killed in the confrontations.

▪️ The Hamas leadership’s  instructions for the freedom fighters were very clear: don't kill children and women.
